History

It all started with the ENDEAVOUR Breast Cancer Programme, established by Daiichi Sankyo Europe in 2017. The aim was and still is to unite a select group of talented European oncologists active in breast cancer research with international key opinion leaders, to advance breast cancer research and improve patient care and outcomes.

  • The first edition of the ENDEAVOUR Breast Cancer Programme kicked off with the inaugural live meeting in Windsor in 2019, bringing together 16 early career breast cancer oncologists from 8 different countries and 9 internationally renowned breast cancer experts. During the meeting, participants presented their research project proposals, and 4 were selected by key opinion leaders for further development within the ENDEAVOUR Programme.
  • Participants and Steering Committee members reconvened for the second live meeting in 2020 in Vienna to discuss the advancements in the selected research projects and explore further development opportunities. One of the keynote lectures focused on Strategies for Successfully Publishing in High-Impact Peer-Reviewed Journals.
  • The third annual ENDEAVOUR meeting took place virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, where the evolution and outcomes of the selected research projects were reviewed. The highly relevant topic of Succeeding with Remote Communication was also addressed.
  • To conclude the first edition of the ENDEAVOUR Breast Cancer Programme, a final live meeting was held at the end of 2021, featuring an official certification ceremony.

Following the successful completion of the 1st edition, a 2nd edition of the ENDEAVOUR Breast Cancer Programme was initiated where the number of participants was increased to 25. Thus, increasing the size of the young oncologists’ network.
